Horizontal breadth is the expansion along the spatial axis, the ability to connect different nodes into a network.

• People without horizontal breadth: No matter how deep vertically, they’re just isolated peaks, unable to mobilize resources from other fields
• People with horizontal but no vertical breadth: Know a little about everything, master nothing, drifting on the surface like floating clouds
• People with both vertical and horizontal: Vertical is the anchor, horizontal is the network, forming a high-density, high-efficiency structural network

Core applications of horizontal breadth: Situation expansion (seeing the whole board), interpersonal expansion (seeing network structures), time-space expansion (incorporating the time dimension into spatial thinking).
