The Emperor Theory — Drifting with the Wind
Cultural Note: The original Chinese title is 帝论随风流 (Dì lùn suí fēng liú), meaning “The Emperor Theory — Flowing with the Wind.” This is the core trading theory presented in literary, flowing form — not rules to memorize, but a way of seeing markets that becomes instinct.
This is the largest and most important chapter in the 2025 edition — approximately 188,000 characters of core trading theory. The “Emperor Theory” (帝论) is the systematic framework that underlies all of Demonjoy’s technical analysis.
The Core Thesis
The Emperor Theory is not a set of rules. It is a way of seeing — a perceptual framework that, once internalized, changes how you read every chart, every price movement, every market structure. The theory’s central metaphor is wind — market movements are like wind patterns, and the skilled trader does not fight the wind but reads it, adapts to it, and occasionally rides it.
Key Concepts
1. Cores (核心) A “core” is a structural pivot point where price establishes a temporary consensus. When price forms a core, it creates a gravitational center — subsequent price movements orbit around this core until a new core is born.
2. Deviations (背离) When price pushes away from an established core, it creates a deviation. Deviations are attempts to escape gravitational pull. They succeed only when they establish a new core; otherwise, they snap back like rubber bands.
3. Propulsion (推进) Propulsion is the state where a 5MA on some timeframe is actively driving price forward. All sustainable price movement is propulsion-driven. The trader’s job is to identify which timeframe’s 5MA is propelling and align trades accordingly.
4. Folding (折叠) Folding is the meta-concept: complex market realities can be compressed into simpler structural representations. You don’t need to track every candle — you only need to identify cores, deviations, and propulsion. Everything else is noise.
5. The Wind Metaphor (随风流) “Drifting with the wind” means reading momentum direction and strength without trying to control it. The trader is a sailor, not a motor — you use the market’s energy, not your own.
The Literary Format
Unlike most trading theory, the Emperor Theory is written in a flowing, almost poetic style. This is deliberate:
规则让人僵硬,理解让人灵活。真正的 mastery 不是记住规则,是让理解变成本能。 “Rules make you rigid, understanding makes you flexible. True mastery is not memorizing rules — it’s letting understanding become instinct.”
The theory is meant to be absorbed gradually, not studied mechanically. Reading it repeatedly, over months, allows the concepts to seep into your perception until you start seeing market structure without conscious effort.
This chapter is the core of the 2025 edition — approximately 188,000 characters of Chinese text containing the complete Emperor Theory framework.
