Folding: Finding Simplicity in Complexity

Cultural Note: The original Chinese title is 折叠:在复杂中发现简单 (Zhédié: zài fùzá zhōng fāxiàn jiǎndān). The core meta-concept of the entire Demonjoy system: all market movements are folded — unfolded, only one action is worth taking.

All market movements are folded.

Before unfolding: looks complex — hundreds of candles, countless news, chaotic波动. After unfolding: only one action is worth taking.

所有行情都是折叠的。展开之后,只有一个动作值得做。 “All market movements are folded. Unfolded, only one action is worth doing.”

What Is Folding?

Imagine a complex 3-month K-line chart. Now, “fold” it — look only at key structural points.

  • Highest point: 85,000
  • Lowest point: 72,000
  • Key support: 78,000

Three numbers instead of hundreds of candles. These three numbers are the market’s skeleton.

肉可以忽略,骨架不能忽略。 “Flesh can be ignored. Skeleton cannot.”

Folding ≠ Simplification

Folding isn’t simplification. Simplification means making complex things simple — but markets are inherently complex, you can’t “make” them simple.

Folding = filtering. Acknowledge complexity, then selectively attend only to the important parts.

折叠不是简化。折叠是过滤。 “Folding isn’t simplification. Folding is filtering.”

The Three-Step Folding Method

  1. Find skeleton: Mark all key levels (previous highs/lows, support/resistance, trendlines, integer关口). You should have 5-10 points.
  2. Wait for price near skeleton: Only near key levels do valuable trading opportunities appear.
  3. Evaluate the single action: At this level, is the risk-reward ratio sufficient? If yes → do. If no → don’t. No “let me check more.” Just: do or don’t.

The Ultimate Form of Folding

你不再看K线了。你只看位置。 “You no longer look at candles. You only look at position.”

After enough folding practice, your eyes automatically lock onto key levels. You don’t need to analyze形态, count waves, draw trendlines. Skeleton appears instantly.

Masters don’t analyze more — they see less. Only the important things.

Texture Check:

  1. When you look at a chart, first thing you see: candle patterns or key levels?
  2. Last trade: entered because “this position is good” or “this coin has potential”?
  3. If you could only look at 3 key levels, which 3?
