The market has four information tiers. Dealers and market makers sit at the top with a “god’s-eye view” — real-time order flow, user position distributions, exchange internal data. Retail traders sit at the bottom, seeing only aggregated results (K-lines) that are already past tense.

The gap is not “more news vs. less news” — it is seeing the full picture vs. touching one leg of the elephant.

The Four Information Tiers

Tier 1: Exchange internals — Market makers see real-time order flow, position clustering, liquidation zones. They know exactly where retail stop-losses concentrate.

Tier 2: On-chain data — Whale movements, exchange flows, smart money positioning. Accessible but requires expensive tools and expertise most retail traders lack.

Tier 3: Aggregated public data — K-lines, volume, basic indicators. What retail traders primarily see. Already past tense by the time you view it.

Tier 4: Social media noise — Twitter, Telegram, Reddit. The “information” most retail traders rely on. Often intentionally misleading.

How Dealers Exploit This

When retail traders see BTC jump from $60,000 to $60,500, market makers saw the $20M buy order five minutes earlier. They saw the process, not just the result. They also know where retail positions cluster, which means they know exactly where the “stop-loss密集区” (stop-loss concentration zones) are — and can deliberately trigger them.
